Here’s some tips we learned about the Cruise
Be prepared for a fire drive the first day you arrive. It’s only about an hour of your time, but you might be
very surprised about what you didn’t know and it’s much better than spending your vacation thinking about the
Titanic.
Even if you do know everything, please be patient for the rest of us on this one -
There were some (whose names won’t be mentioned) who couldn’t figure out how the life
vest was supposed to be strapped on (me),
and others who thought that the whistle was supposed to blow it
up around you
(not me...hehe
)-
Even though it took away from the
“You’re on vacation” mode for a
few,
the information was invaluable.
The “Soda Cards” sold upon your arrival
can save you a lot!
It might seem expensive
to pay $24ish dollars for all the sodas you can drink at first but,
if you think about all the days you’ll be
there,
what you will save in the end is worth it.
Before you go back to your room, if you have the “Soda card…use it! They have can sodas awaiting you in your
stateroom...
for only a $1.75 a piece.
The crew is lienent -
They understand that you are on vacation and just want you to have a good time.
As long as your nice and not invading anyone else’s rights, privileges, to do the same, they are sweethearts.
If you dress up
and eat in the main dining room, you can have as many steak, lobsters, or shrimp cocktails that you would like. oh-ahh!!!

Except for the Captain’s dinner,
you do not have to fully dress up to enter the main dining room -
Nice jeans do work as long you still
look “presentable”. For the guys wear a collared shirt, and for the girls, a tank top is fine as long as you have
a nice shirt to cover up.
Don’t ask for "just" a glass of white wine -
They will automatically give you a glass
for $10.00. The White Zinfandel is about half that price and tastes just as well to the inexperienced wine drinkers.
The hot tubs usually close at 12:00pm -
The crew will not ask you to leave,
but the jets cut off
and it doesn't take time before you want too.
You can stay on the cruise during port stops and still have at least one food counter,
a bar open to use, and several other activities going on -
As long as you don’t mind them cleaning
the decks, etc., around you,
but who cares...your on vaction!
Buy the water from the ship
before you leave for Mexico,
...just cause.
The shows are excellent, but so are the bands and entertainment
in other places.
If you should loose your cruise card, no problem -
The information desk can quickly set you up with another one - just don’t try to use the old one anymore
or you will end up spending some time at the information desk to straighten it out.
Make sure you FIND the
information desk,
or you'll spend alot of time being
"lost in the halls that lead no-where".
Even if you do not choose an excursion for the final morning,
you must still be departed from the ship by 9:00am -
So don't plan on sleeping in that last day...
This is no matter what anyone says...
Remember, they have other people waiting to come on board that they must get ready for.
Don't get me wrong -
We ALL had an AWESOME time,
but it is always helpful to "learn"
and pass on your experiences to others,...right?
hehehe...
P. S. - This list will be updated more
as more memories start to filter back
through...
